Molly’s having a small going-away party in her kindergarten next week. Today she told me that her friend Melissa was going to bring some carrots and Matthias would bring tomatoes to the party. I thought that was slightly odd but was quite impressed with the level of organisation by her teachers.
Until I heard Molly talk to a woman at the kindergarten and say (in German): “Paul’s mum, can you buy lettuce for my going away party?” I then realised she was the only one in charge of “organising” her fantasy party and the planning’s mostly in her head.
This is not going to go well. I hope Paul’s mum brings that lettuce.
